Moose Lodge on the Move

Day 1

We left Fort Collins, Colorado on February 27, 20IMG_624412.  This trip is something I have been thinking about since we moved to Colorado and I knew I would be retiring in December of 2011.  We have been planning this trip in our minds since we bought our trailer last August.  However after our second outing in October, when we got flooded, I began to wonder if we were going to be able to take this trip. But we did and here we are.

We wanted to be on the road between 8 – 9 am and we were on the road at 9:15.  I think that was pretty good since when had gotten the trailer back from having warranty work done less than a week before our departure time.

Most of the first two weeks of our trip we are going to places we have seen before so I had to take pictures on the fly.  Thank goodness for a great camera and an action mode.  I would just roll down the window and shoot. When we left Fort Collins it was 18 degrees.  Moose was getting tired of the window going up and down but he was a good sport.

We took I25 to I70.  Moose was worried about how the truck was going to handle pulling the trailer (32 ft.).  He was very happy when we got to Grand Junction.  One thing that surprised me was the lack of snow.

I will edit the pictures better on the next post.

Our first night was spend with Chad and Charity Finnigsmier.  We parked outside their very cute home.  We had wonderful dinner and evening with them.
